History of Fox Hunting and the Hamilton Hunt

The sport of foxhunting has been carried on

in Canada for more than one hundred and

fifty years. It was originally imported from

England and is a non-competitive sport

enjoyed by people of all ages and walks of life.

The Hamilton Hunt, established in 1958,

is recognized by the Masters of Foxhounds

Association of America. Due to the kindness,

co-operation and good  will of the many

landowners, the hunt members are allowed to ride over large areas surrounding the Hunt Club, and other large tracts of land in the area, during hunts.
